What's In The Box? & Testing Crowdtap (Late) August 2017

Hey Everyone!

Welcome back! I’m coming back with a little something different for US. If you want to go straight to video Click Here, but if you want to just continue reading, continue. Let me tell you up front, this video was complicated for me. Normally I don’t do these type of videos, but for the sake of testing we shall try. Going to remind you that I only use a Samsung Galaxy S3 as my video/camera, I don’t have a view finder or a ring lamp or anything fancy. So I can’t see if it’s focus in the right spot or if its too bright or too dark. I’m basically winging it! Be aware, I make a lot of faces at myself when I put on makeup. Don’t confuse my faces for my reaction to the liner. Now time for testing!!!

Opening the box and seeing a nice little Marc Jacobs Beauty box, for some reason I felt special. I don’t know why, it may be because the brand itself or the box.  Within the box it comes with 2 Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon; Pink of Me(Light Pink)  and (Earth)Quake (Chocolate Brown). It holds 0.5g/0.01oz doesn’t have much of the product like regular pencils, but it comes with a sharpener under the pencil when you pull the bottom off. On the website of Marc Jacobs it claims to be waterproof and the price is $25.

Eye Results, Swatches, Package
Swatching these liners felt so amazing. It felt velvety smooth, and so creamy; feels very light in your hand. Applying the liner is pretty easy, it glides nicely, it’s okay in blending (have to work at it a bit). The pigment is all there as you see in the video/pictures. I’m having a hard time in NOT liking the product, its an amazing liner, love that it’s matte, glides beautifully, I’m just loving it, doesn’t smudge, AND its waterproof (meaning if you go swimming it won’t come off)! Product itself is pretty darn near perfect for my wants in a liner; just the price always ends up killing me. $25 for a 0.5g/0.01oz (one pencil), but even though the price is pricey I believe it’s worth it. This would be a splurge kind of gift to yourself not for an every week kind of buy product.

Review "Here and Gone" by Haylen Beck

Hey Everyone!

Welcome Back! You Miss ME? I Miss YOU! Alright, enough with the mussy stuff. Here we have an author I have never heard of, which is always exciting. It's like meeting a new friend. When I was researching this book, I read that "Haylen Beck" is not his real name it's Stuart Neville! Then I researched him and found out he was a known author from Northern Ireland, also here in the U.S.. He has won awards for his best known book The Ghosts of Belfast (American Edition of The Twelve), has a total of 8 Novels out, including Here and Gone. He seems to be doing well for his career! Congratulation!! Now why did he use a pen name for his recent book? Who knows and who cares! As long as he can make a great book, which he did, it shouldn't matter if he's using a pen name! Let me tell you what Here and Gone is about.

Book Cover
It deals with a mother, Audra, who escapes from an abusive husbad and tries to start fresh with her 2 children, Sean and Louise. While she drives from New York to California, she's stopped by an Arizona Sheriff in the middle of the desert. While he searches thru their belongings, he finds a bag of drugs, which she has never seen in her trunk. Thinking the worst has come, she didn't know it's just the beginning.

Let's talk about the PROS & CONS

PROS
  • Great story line
  • Love Sean & Danny (characters)
  • Suspenseful
  • Thriller
  • Point of View from Mother, both kids and Danny
CONS
  • Predictable
  • Won't read twice
Their wasn't much dislike, which is great! If I could give this book a 3.5 stars on Goodreads I would, but sadly it doesn't. So I gave 3 stars. I enjoyed every word in the book. Its a good starter for new thriller readers. I was able to read this book in 3 days and for me that's fast! Is it worth the buy? For me personally, NO. Why? Because $15-$20 is not my range in buying a book. I usually get my books from Dollar Stores or The Salvation Army store or the Public Library (which I have not done in YEARS!). I'm even gotten books as gifts. But since this book is a NEW and only been out since June 20, 2017, YES, it's not a bad price for a new book and theirs other books out their that are way more expensive.
